A rush rush ruuuuusssssshhhhhh out of the door this morning to get to college on time. Almost forgot my phone but dashed back in to get it – it died at 11am, bleh! We had a morning of contextual studies during which as I was listening to the discussion I did a few sketches of my fellow students. It’s always a challenge to grab the lines of the subject fast enough to make them appear on the paper before they move.

In the afternoon we went to visit the Jerwood Drawing Prize exhibition which was superb. Visit the link to get a free downloadable PDF of the catalogue – but if you can go, do. The works are much much better in life than in a digital format. There was some really interesting approaches to drawing which I hope will help inform my own practice – some along the lines I’ve already been thinking about and trying but some completely new that need experimenting with. Let’s see what I come up with..!
