The guitar is now in pieces – front and back panels, neck, strings, sides, bridge and assorted internal struts. I was relieved that I was able to get it apart without doing much damage to the finish of the wood despite it being quite difficult to get the first back panel off. I have realised that I’ll need to do some painting of the newly exposed interior parts and there will be some modifications of the initial idea – I think I may have my bird free-standing on the floor instead of hanging – but it’s going well and I’m actually enjoying this blessed sculpture business!
